The Transposon Registry

Tn6935 is a 15802 bp composite transposon flanked by two directly-oriented copies of the insertion sequence ISKox2-like. The target site duplication sequences 5-TGATT-3' were found adjacent to each inverted repeat boundaries of the platform. This transposon also has two aditional insertion sequences: ISAba14 and ISAba125; and harbors two antibiotic resistance genes, blaNDM-1 and aph3-IV coding for a carbapenemase and an aminoglycoside O-phosphotransferase respectively. Tn6935 was found on a conjugative IncC plasmid, named pCF638, obtained from a clinical Citrobacter freundii isolate in Uruguay.
