The Transposon Registry

The transposon was first identified in the circular chromosome of Acinetobacter baumannii strain BM11614 with 11,559 bp in length. The transposon was bracketed by two copies of IS26 in the same orientation and carried 4 antibiotic resistance genes including aadA5, blaNDM-5, dfrA17, and sul1. A single-IS26 circular intermediate was detected by PCR and sequencing.
